An extremely worn and possibly clipped silver coin of post-medieval date. The coin is so worn that no details can be made out, except for part of a possible line between the legend and the inner section, which leads the recorder to think that the coin has been clipped. Its thinness suggests a coin of late Tudor or Stuart date, c. AD 1558-1649. The size of the coin suggests maybe a halfgroat or threepence, if of Elizabeth I period (AD 1558-1603). It is unclear if the coin has been worn intentionally to function as a 'love token'.
