A complete base silver penny of Edward VI (1547 to 1553) dating to the period 1550 to 1553. North Number 1946. The obverse depicts a double or Tudor rose. The legend is illegible but probably would have read E D G ROSA SINE SPINA. The reverse depicts a cross fourchée over a royal shield. The coin is badly clipped but the legend is still visible and reads CIVI/TAS/EBO/RACI.
