It is from the third period, showing the Tudor Rose on the obverse and the reverse depicts a long cross fourchee over a royal shield. North 1945, London mint. (North, JJ, 1980, English Hammered Coinage Volume II, Spink & Son, London, p124, no.1945.)
There are two holes in the coin, on the obverse one is almost in the centre of the rose (measuring 1.68mm diameter), whilst the other is considerably smaller in diameter (measuring 0.69mm in diameter), and is at about 4 o clock.
