A medieval silver coin; a penny of Henry VI first reign (AD 1422-1461), probably Pinecone-Mascle issue, minted at Durham, dating from AD 1430-1434. See North (1991:77) no.1467var. The coin is 17.3mm diameter, 0.5mm thick and 0.8g. This coin appears to have a mascle stop at the end of the reverse legend. This is seen in both the Rosette-Mascle (SUR-500FA0) and Pinecone-Mascle types. The lack of star to the left of the crown, and a possible pinecone in the obverse legend suggests it is a Pinecone-Mascle variant.
