Medieval coin; Struck silver penny of Henry III (or possibly very early penny of Edward I), class Vh, dated to c1265-1275. Moneyer Renaud, mint London. Obv. Crowned portrait of the king, facing, holding a sceptre in his right hand, which divides the legend. The central fleur of the crown is struck as three pellets in a triangle rather than an actual fleur. hENRICVS REX / III Rev. Voided long cross which divides the legend. Three pellets in each quadrant. REN/AVD/ONL/VND (Ligation on EN, ON and ND) Diameter 18.5mm, thickness 0.7mm, weight 1.37g Ref: North, Vol I, page 227, coin 998

Obverse legend reads [...]N[...]III. Obverse shows a forward facing crowned bust with sceptre. Reverse legend reads ROB/E[...]/O[...]/ANT ('A' and 'N' seem to be ligated). Reverse shows a voided long cross with a single pellet at the centre and three pellets per quarter. Die axis is 12 o'clock. Weight is 1.21g, diameter is 19.0mm, thickness is 0.6mm.
