The obverse depicts a forward facing, crowned bust holding a sceptre left. The legend is largely illegible however III is visible before the sceptre. The reverse depicts a voided long cross with three pellets in each angle. The legend reads NIC/OLE/ONL/VND.

A nearly complete Medieval silver voided long cross penny of Henry III, issued between AD 1251-1256. Moneyer: Nicole; Mint of Canterbury. North Class 5a-5c. Cf. North 1994 Vol I, pp. 226-227, nos 991/1-993. It is likely that this coin could be attributed to Class 5a, as this type is defined by a Ball-tailed R and this coin seems to exhibit this feature.

A silver voided long-cross cut farthing struck in the period 1250-1256. The coin is a cut farthing with bust and sceptre visible on the obverse and voided Long Cross reverse. The obverse legend commences to the immediate right of the sceptre and reads 'hEN[ ]'. One quarter of the reverse legend is visible and it reads 'ION[ ]'. The coin is class 5a-c, is likely to have been struck by moneyer Ion at an uncertain mint. The radius is 9.48mm, the thickness is 0.67mm and the weight is 0.31g.
