Just over 25% of the flan survives, one edge is a deliberate cut, the other a more irregular break.

A silver hammered penny of Henry III, AD1216-1272. Reverse legend reads ANG/LIE/TE'/CI' . Reverse shows a voided long cross with a crozier on the cross arm next to the apostrophy after the E of TE'.
Obverse legend reads hENRICVS:REX. Obverse shows a crowned head forward facing, with a pellet within the lower curls of the hair, no sceptre. The initial mark is a star and crescent. Die axis is 11 o'clock. Weight is 1.26g, diameter is 17.8mm, thickness is 0.7mm. This is a class 1a coin presumed to have been minted in London in AD1247.
