A Medieval silver voided short cross penny of Henry III (AD 1216-1272), dating to AD 1222-1236. Class 7b2. Struck by Adam at London. North (1994: 223) no. 979. A portion of the outer edge of the coin has broken away, which occurred while being stored prior to recording. However, the break follows an existing hairline crack seen in the photographs taken, with white corrosion product visible inside the hairline crack - it is likely this expanded and pushed the fragments further apart over time.
