Silver medieval 'short cross' penny, most probably of Richard I, struck in 1194 by Reinaud the moneyer at the Canterbury Mint. This coin is heavily worn but fits well into Class 4a* as the stops on the reverse face are distinct colons.

Silver short cross penny probably of Richard I. Mint: London, Moneyer: Ricard. Class 4a* c1194 - 1204/05. The obverse face of the coin has been badly damaged due to crushing (possibly between teeth as the dents are regular and even). Very little - if any of the detail can be identified from this face and the identification has been achieved soley from evidence on the reverse.
