A gold Anglo-Saxon thrymsa dating c.655 - c.675. The obverse shows a bust right with two symbols in front of the face. The upper symbol appears to be a cross with a line across the base, the lower a large 'Z' reversed. It would seem that the coin was edged on the obverse by a ring of closely set pellets, however more than half of these are missing which is suggestive that the edges of the coin might have been clipped.
