A complete uninscribed Iron Age base gold/plated gold unifaced stater of the East Wiltshire/Western region, dating to the period c. 50-20 BC. Rudd's 'Savernake Forest'. Obverse: plain. Reverse: skinny horse r., pellet mane,solar spiral above and large wheel below. Various pellets around. cf. ABC p. 107, no. 2091 but the find has no torc-like motif in front. Dimensions: 14.0mm in diameter; 4.0g in weight.

A copper alloy 'Chichester Cock' bronze unit of the Regini (or Atrebates) dating to the period BC 65-45. Obverse depicts a helmeted head. Reverse depicts a small bearded head surmounted by a cock possibly holding a snake in its beak. "These coins are copied from Gaulish types. Chichester Cock bronze units constitute a very large coinage of the mid 1st century BC. .. they are the only bronze coins issued in the Southern Region .. they feature an anthropomorphic cockerel, a genre of grotesque fantasy beasts know as grylloi which date from the 5th century BC."
