It is struck on a plump dished flan 12.29 mm diameter, is 2.08 mm thick, weight 1.05 grammes. Obverse: Ladder-haired bust left with Lentoid eye. A worn Iron Age silver unit of the Belgae dating from c. 65 - 40 BC. The obverse is very similar to ABC 845 (Cottam et al's 'Basingstoke JJ' type (ABC 845)) but the reverse is different. The reverse depicts a horse advancing right, with a spiral sun above and two dot-in-pellet motifs in front. Below the horse's front leg are three dot-in-pellet motifs with a fourth below the hoof, similar to the 'Kingsclere Horse Box' type (ABC 887). Philip de Jersey concurs that this coin may be a new variant of ABC 845, however it is also 'arguably a new type'.
