A complete cast copper alloy Iron Age Gallo-Belgic (Belgium and northeast France) unit or potin of the Suessiones tribe (north-east of Paris). Cottam et al.'s 'Soissons Eye Boar' type dating from c.60 - 20 BC (ABC 85). The potin is in very good condition and shows very little wear. This is listed as an extremely rare coin for Britain, but are more common on the Continent - twelve others have been reocrd by the PAS and this is the first from Oxfordshire.
