An Iron Age gold quarter stater of the East Anglian region / Iceni tribe, dating to c. 40-10 BC, probably 'Irstead Smiler' type. Obverse: Latticed square on opposed crescents, projecting branch above and below, pellet in ring to each side. Reverse: Horse stepping right, open head, outline crescent and pellet in two rings three pellets in triangle above horse's head. ABC no.1480, BMC 3437-3438, Mack type: M404.
