A silver unit of Iron Age date of the Iceni. ABC1591.
Obverse: Crescent corn ears. Opposing crescents and pellet in ring motifs at centre of four corn ears, pellet triad in each quarter.
Reverse: Curvy horse motif facing left, part of six spoke wheel above.
Reverse struck off-centre upward to right so part is lost.

Iron Age Irstead quarter stater (plated) Description: the coin has a base metal core with gold surfaces. It weighs 0.65 grammes, and has axes of 10.6 and 9.9 millimetres. A description of the obverse and reverse is difficult because much of the gold surface of the coin is no longer present. But it is clear the obverse has a rectangular form divided into squares flanked on one side by a pellet-in-ring.
