An incomplete Iron Age copper-alloy unit of the Durotriges (South Western Region) dating to the period c. 58 BC - AD 43. 'Hod Hill' type depicting a wreath, cloak and crescents on the obverse, and on the reverse a disjointed horse facing left with a rectangular head, body of crescents, four vertical legs, three roughly horizontal lines for a tail with a pellet below and many pellets above. As ABC, p. 111, no. 2175; VA 1290; BMC 2790-2859.

An Iron Age silver stater, minted c. 50 - c. 10 BC. Uninscribed South-Western (Durotrigan) type. BM cf. nos 2525 - 2546 = Van Arsdell nos. 1235, 1252, 1254 and 1255 = Mack no. 317. The obverse of this coin bears two incuse marks, both made with a narrow-bladed implement, and possibly struck to check the metal composition. Diameter: 20mm; thickness: 3.1mm. Weight: 4.9g.
