An Iron Age silver quarter stater of the Durotriges dating to c 60-30 BC. The quarter stater is a Badbury Starfish type. The obverse depicts a five-armed starfish with lines of pellets between each arm. The reverse depicts a zigzag thunderbolt and line of pellets across the field, and an eight-rayed lightning flash with rectangular body to each side. The coin weighs 0.7g and has a diameter of 11.64mm. Cf Rudd, C, 2010, Ancient British Coins, Chris Rudd Aylsham 2010, p 113, no ABC 2220.
