An Iron Age debased silver Cranborne Chase stater dating to c 58 BC-AD 43. The stater is of the Durotriges. The obverse depicts part of a wreath, a cloak and crescents. The reverse depicts a disjoined horse facing left with a rectangular head, body of crescents, four vertical legs (the back two legs and tail have been worn away). There is a pellet below the horse and 12 pellets above. Cf Rudd, C, 2010, Ancient British Coins, Chris Rudd Aylsham 2010 p 110 no ABC 2157.
