Rose gold coin fragment. Probably an uninscribed South Ferriby gold stater of the Corieltauvi, ABC 1743, Haselgrove Period 2 Phase 6 issue of 50-20 BC; Rudd et al. consider the versions with a blank obverse to be 'Rare'. Copper alloy coin. Base metal core, probably for a gold plated stater, though this example was either never plated or has entirely lost its surface coating. The obverse derives from the wreath of Apollo on Macedonian staters from the Mediterranean world. The reverse design was not immediately identified by a trawl through the ABC reference book. However, it does comprise a haphazard arrangement of lines similar to the most discombobulated of Celtic horses to appear on the gold coinage of the Corieltauvi, though it would not easily be mistaken for even these. The most common local coins…

Copper alloy possible coin. Base metal core from a plated Iron Age coin. The surface texture on one side might suggest a wheat ear or wreath motif to the eye of faith, as appears on the South Ferriby gold stater of the Corieltauvi (e.g. ABC no. 1743), and curvilinear features on the other side could contribute to a Celticised horse motif. Were this identification sustained, it might point to a Late iron Age date, Hazelgrove Period 2 Phase 6 or Period 3 Phase s 7-8, 50BC-AD40 Obverse description: possibly wreath and crescents Reverse description: possibly Celticised horse left …

A large lead weight of uncertain date. This artefact weighs 101.98g (c.3.60oz) is hemispherical in shape with a diameter of 38.3mm and depth of 19.1mm. The change in angle between the domed and flat surfaces is gently rounded edge. None of the surfaces show any obvious decoration. However, at the approximate centre of the flat surface there is the remains of an iron component. This component appears to be a very worn break, which is level with the lead surface. This is likely to be the remains of a suspension loop or hook. The original presence of a suspension attachment is suggestive…
