A complete Iron Age coin. Though originally suggested to be a gold plated contemporary copy of a gold stater of the North Eastern region / Corieltavi with a copper core (Esuprasu type dating from about AD 40 - 47), it is also suggested that this might be a coin with an unusual level of copper mixed with gold (as those with copper cores tend to weigh less). The coin is 20.1mm in diameter, 3.0mm thick and weighs 5.47g. The coin is dished, concave on the horse face. Obverse: Wreath crossed by bar with crescents at end and a ring of pellets in each cresecent. Reverse: Styli…

A possible silver Iron Age coin; an uninscribed North Eastern (Corieltauvi) silver unit or half unit, possibly a Boar/Horse type, phase 6, dating from about 50 - 10 BC. Compare ABC 1812 or 1836.
