Gold coin fragment. Lindsey Scyphate quarter stater: a markedly concavo-convex thin coin fragment, ABC1773, issue of 50-20 BC, Hazelgrove Period 2 Phase 6.
Obverse description: stylised boar comprising a curving line with diagonal strokes above it, and paired diagonal strokes related to shorter curls below, paired lines also producing box-like shapes
Reverse description: A central reverse-S-shaped curl with a ring and dot within the concavities to either side; a ring or rosette of pellets to either side, other ring-and-pellet combinations beyond these central features.

A late Iron Age gold quarter-stater attributed to the Corieltavi. This type of coin is known as a 'scyphate'.
Obverse: abstract boar right
Reverse: large reversed 'S' with pellet in ring terminals, five pointed star with pellet centre to left and right, crescents above and below.
The coin is flatter than most scyphates, which are usually dished. It is unclear whether this is an original feature or due to post-depositional factors.
This coin is probably a variant of ABC 1770/Hobbs 3178ff.
