A late Iron Age cast copper-alloy Flat Linear potin (Class I) of the Kent region / Cantiaci, dating to the period c.75-55 BC. Obverse: Linear head left with prominent central pellet and neck line. Reverse: Linear bull right comprised mostly of straight lines, crescents above. Casting flashing remains visible on both edges of the flan. Holman, 2016: Type F2/2a; ABC no. 171. With thanks to David Holman for attribution of this coin to a Holman type. Measurements: length: 18.31mm; width: 17.98mm; thickness: 1.56mm and weight: 1.78g.

One front leg and wavy tail above. Measurements: length including tabs: 20.76mm; diameter of flan: 17.72mm; thickness: 1.08mm and weight: 1.66g.

A worn but complete cast copper-alloy Iron Age Flat Linear potin of the Cantiaci, c.115-100 BC, of Holman type B2/2-1 (D. Holman, pers. comm.). The obverse depicts a stylised head of Apollo left. The reverse has a bull butting right with exergual line below, two(?) crescents above. The remains of a casting sprue are visible on one edge, and there is a circular perforation towards the base of the potin when viewed from the obverse, which is likely to be the result of manufacture or the casting process although a deliberate and later perforation cannot be ruled out entirely. An Iron Age copper-alloy uninscribed bronze unit, probably dating from 50-20 BC. Attributed to One face depicts a bear right with bird on its back; the other face depicts a bull right, with prominent horns on facing head. Cf. ABC 267, VA 154-3, BMC 2484-86. Listed as 'rare' in Rudd 2010, 'Ancient British Coins', p. 38, no. 267. This coin is unusually thin and it is possible that the remains of the coin comprise the core of the coin.

The obverse depicts a head facing right and the reverse a bull butting left with two crescents above. The bull is of an angular 'stick' form with a nearly vertical line for its horns.
