An incomplete cast copper alloy stirrup strap mount dating to the late early-medieval (AD850-1100) Anglo-Scandinavian period. It is a strap mount of Williams Class A, Type 8 (or possibly Type 7), with Williams' cloest parallel being no. 158 (Williams 1997, 50). It is roughly triangular in shape with a projecting ledge at the bottom on the reverse. There are three rivet holes: one in each corner. A copper alloy stirrup mount in an Anglo-Scandinavian style, Williams Class A, type 5. It has a subtriangular shape with a drilled hole in the base and at the apex. Traces of niello remain on the surface, though the design is difficult to interpret due to the degree of corrosion, which extends accross the surface of the object. Traces of iron oxide are visible on the underside of the mount on the basal rib. A complete cast copper-alloy early medieval stirrup strap mount of Williams Class A, Type 1. The pentagonal form mount is quite worn and smooth but some of the linear design engraved with niello is still visible. The apex of the mount has a loop and there are two lower fixing holes at the base. The reverse has a right angle flange and traces of iron corrosion around the back of the fixing holes and apex loop. The length is 48.9mm, the width is 32.5mm and the weight is 22.05g.
