A copper-alloy hinge, possibly from a casket or similar container. The object is triangular in plan, plano-convex in cross-section and has two incomplete rear-ward curving arms extending from the wide end.
The perimeter of the body is decorated with a line of pellets in niello. There is a circular rivet hole in the centre of the body. The terminal of the object is in the form of an animals head with a pierced loop for a snout. The ears are shown by two pronounced knobs. The forehead and eyebrows are faceted.
