A probable Anglo-Saxon, Early Medieval, lead alloy sword pyramid; a 7th century fitting from a scabbard strap. Although the term 'pyramid' is generally applied to this form of object due to its shape normally being a square pyramid, this example is in the form of a dome. The mount has a flat circular base with two D-shaped holes extending into the body of the mount and joining to form a tube behind the central bar.
