A fragment of a purse bar. The bar has a circular section and a panel of engraved diaper-work inlaid with nieelo. Such decoration is very typical for purses of this period. The bar has two suspension holes in a projecting flange. The terminal retains the separate rove which was fitted over the terminal to secure the two pivotting frames.

An early medieval cast copper alloy strap end belonging to Thomas' Class A, type 2. The strap end is tapering with almost straight sides, a straight snout terminal, a split end and two rivet holes for attachment. The debased animal head terminal has flat ears and three lines inlaid with niello along its length. On the body is a rectangular panel containing a multi-strand pattern also inlaid with niello.

An early medieval hooked tag. The tag is oval and the hook and attachment holes are missing. The tag has four recesses for silver or niello inlay, most of which is mssing. The recesses are enclosed within engraved borders which comprise three fields. There are two transverse grooves across the neck which leads to the missing hook.

A large gilded pin with a biconical head, a thick stem and two large rounded swellings on the shaft. Between the mouldings on the shaft run spiral grooves. On the apex of the head is a cross, possibly inlaid with niello, and with niello inlay in the lines which fill the angles. Gilding survives largely on the head.

A large section of a purse frame of Ward Perkins' Class A2. The frame has 5 extant holes for suspension of the purse (1 hole survives partially). Decoration comprises a series of scrolls and short lines inlaid with niello, a little of which survives. Purses of Class A2 typically bear religious inscriptions. It is probable that the decoration on this frame fragment represents a garbled form of such an inscription.

A hooked belt attachment. The belt was clearly intended to pass through the large rectangular aperture (21mm long), the rounded loop facing downwards. On the outer face (right in the photo) is linear decoration in the form of a diaper pattern, each line formed of three strands, each inlaid with niello. Compare with Poore et al. (2006, 288; fig. 19, no. 7)
