Copper alloy purse bar that consists of two rectangular cross-section arms that flank a rectangular central block hub. The block hub has a hole that passed through the middle that would have mounted a large loop on a spindle, but this is now missing. The face of the hub is decorated with three lis on one side and a five petalled flower on the other, this decoration is recessed and then inlayed with silver. A largely complete cast copper alloy purse bar belonging to Ward Perkins' Class A1, now much worn and eroded. There is a pair of open-mouthed beasts which clasp the bar on either side of the central rounded block. As is usual with bars of Type A1 decoration takes the form of a double strand lattice inlaid with niello. On either side of the block there appear to be 8-point stars, now much worn.
