A group of 11 ceramic sherds of Roman fineware vessels. The fabric is a dark grey with an oxidised red core, there aqppears to be a colour coated slip on the sherds. The sherds have abundant fine sand tempered inclusions, are wheel made and abraded consist:

Two bodysherds of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel of an imported Roman pottery type. The sherd has a coarse, pale oxidised fabric, with a reduced core. The sherd has abundant fine sand temper and larger inclusions of consisting of a mid-ed colour. the sherd is heavily abraded but appears to have a mid grey slp. This fabric type is consistent with Roman amphorae types.

The sherd is either a rim fragment or a portion of a deep foot ring of a ceramic vessel. In profile it is a plain ānā shape and would form a c. 13cm diameter. The fabric is a colour coated white ware. The fabric is quite soft, and is white with very occasional black and pink/peach coloured inclusions. The slip, which covers the interior, rim and exterior surfaces, is a mottled dark brown colour. The broken edges of the sherd are recently and it is slightly abraded. The sherd weighs 8.52g.

The sherd is a base sherd which includes a portion of a foot ring, made from Oxfordshire Red Colour Coat ware. The foot ring may suggest the vessel was a bowl.
The fabric is a red colour which is slightly powdery and is micaeous. The red colour coat is a dark brown/red colour.
The Oxfordshire Red Colour Coat ware appears c. 240 and continues until the end of the roman period.

There are five abraded body sherds which represent five different vessels. The fabric of the sherds is white.

The sherd is a fragment of the rim. The rim is 'n' shape in profile which flares outwards. The rim originally would have been c. 5cm in diameter. Just below the rim, on the exterior surface there is the remains of a handle.

The sherd is a fragment of the rim. The rim is a sub 'n' shape with a slight lip on the interior edge forming a shallow vessel. The fabric is fine and is a white colour. There are red, and grey coloured situation grits.
On the interior surface there is a wide band from the rim which may be a dark brown/black coloured slip. There is no obvious line marking its extention.

The sherd is a rim fragment. The rim is a square shape in profile with a small inverted 'V' at the base. The wall is narrow in profile and slightly curvaceous. The fabric is slightly gritty with red and black inclusions and occasional quartz inclusions. The fabric has a mid grey core and buff/peach coloured surfaces. The edge of the rim and within the inverted 'V' there appears to be a horizontal line of ?white slip as decoration.

One body sherd of heavily abraded colour coat ware. The fabric of the sherd is an orange colour with micaceous inclusions. The outer surface has been stamped with a sub-semi-circular radiate design, formed by the stamp producing four sub-rectangular cells. There are also curved lines form by a series of sub-rectangular cells. The colour coat is a light red colour.
