An incomplete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) copper-alloy buckle pin (c. 450-c. 600). In plan, the base is trapezoidal in plan and narrows to the incomplete pin shaft. At the front the base is sunken in order to accommodate decorative material, possibly glass or garnet. The base of sunken area is uneven. Between the base and shaft there is a small projection at each side. The pin is triangular in cross-section. On the rear face are the remains of an imbedded iron loop. This pin is corroded and has patches of a green patina. Traces of silvering or tinning can be seen at the front. …

A complete Medieval copper-alloy annular brooch (c. 1250-c. 1400). The frame is circular in plan. Half the frame is circular in cross-section and the other half has been twisted, wrythen or cabled. There is a constriction for the tapering copper-alloy pin, the shaft of which is circular in cross-section. An abutting join is visible at the end of the loop. The wings are cylindrical and are of the same diameter throughout their width. Within the wings there is an iron axis bar. This object is moulded at the front and concave at the rear and is in the form of an earl's coronet. It has five rays each of which supports a pearl and there is a strawberry leaf between the rays. An unidentified sheet copper-alloy object of Unknown date and uncertain function. The object is possibly Medieval or post-Medieval. This object was flat but is now misshapen. It tapers in width throughout its length. At the widest end the width is 17.7mm and the width at the narrow end is 6.3mm. At the widest end there is a small circular hole at each corner. The object is light green with patches of a dark green patina and has traces of silver on both faces. There is a patch of iron staining close to one of the holes. A complete Modern base metal and coated copy of a 'sixpence' of Charles I (1625-1649), 1900-2000. This coin copies the silver shillings minted at Pontefract during 1648 and 1649, the so-called 'siege' pieces. Sixpences were never minted at Pontefract, but were at Scarborough in 1644-5 and Newark in 1646. However, these latter types are square or diamond-shaped in profile, not disc-shaped as in this case. A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy spoon (c. 1800-c. 1900). The shallow bowl is sub-oval in plan and is more pointed at the handle end. It is soldered to the stem which is mainly circular in cross-section but is flattened at each end. Where the stem joins the bowl, the heal is pointed and the opposite end of the stem is folded rearwards to form a terminal. This spoon has traces of a white metal coating on the stem only. Length: 132.8mm; width of bowl: 34.1mm; thickness of bowl: 4.4mm. Weight: 13.29g.
