Cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, length 37mm, width 10mm, thickness 19mm, weight 6.96g. Oval head with a rearward projecting loop on the reverse that would have held the spring. On the top of the head is a loop.
Moulded decoration on the head, with a rope style crest running down to the moulded knee, below which is a double set of engraved crescents, a double engraved line runs down the length of the leg, with a single line flanking. The bottom of the leg is truncated. The top of the catch plate is missing.
The artefact was silvered.
