Five dome-headed rivets of head diameter 3mm and length 4.8mm passed from the display side, three passing through the back part of the folded plate. Copper alloy harness pendant fragment. A fragment from the trapezoid end of an object which appears to have incorporated a central floral openwork boss, across which it is broken, the boss being flanked by a slight – and perhaps broken – continuation on either side. A distinctive pattern of decoration comprises finely incised lines defining petals, and a crowded ground of tiny stamped circles which are also carried round the edges to form a border, with extensive gilding across the display side. Part of the upper or lower edge of a sub-rectangular buckle with a separate steel spindle [lost], including a frame moulded with curvilinear ribs which retains one spindle housing. The curvature suggests a function as a shoe buckle. The magnified view achievef during image processing might suggeast tin in the metal mix, a black coating, and possibly gilding. Cast band of shallow D-section with a dark outer surface which is removed by symmetrically incised triangles each containing frond motifs and a tiny vacant setting marked by off-white fixative, the borders of the triangles being rendered as a series of tiny dots. Yellow metal is revealed by these marks and appears as a plain gilded internal surface, though the mass of the object does not suggest the body of the ring to be gold.
