A ceramic vessel fragment; a base sherd of Post Medieval pottery dating from AD 1500 - 1700. The fabric is hard and fine in texture. It is a dark red with few, very small white and dark inclusions (perhaps grog?). The inner surface is glazed in a dark rich lustrous brown. The fabric is similar to Wrenthorpe Ware and other Post Medieval black wares. The sherd is 31mm long, 34.3mm wide and 16.2mm high. The wall is 5.7mm thick. 13.05g.

A ceramic vessel fragment of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1500. The sherd is a wall sherd. The fabric is hard, has laminated to irregular texture, and is a light buff colour, tending to pale orange on the outer face. It has frequent inclusions which are poorly sorted. There are large angular piececs of quartz, and smaller grey and red particles. It is probably Coal Measure White fabric. There are a few splashes of clear glaze on the outer face. The sherd is 57.1mm wide, 38.7mm tall, 7.4mm thick and 17.7g.
