An incomplete fragment of a ceramic handle from a pot or jug dating to the medieval period. The handle is circular in section and widens out and the attachment end to form a flat surface which would have joined the handle to a vessel. The breaks at each end are very worn. The surface is cream to light brown in colour with darker brown inclusions, and is uneven in texture. There are traces of a green glaze in places. The length is 71.84mm, the width is 38.9mm at its widest, 22.5mm at its narrowest and the thickness is 20.77. It weighs 45.82g.

A fragment of a ceramic vessel of Medieval date (AD 1250-1325). The fragment is from the body of a wheel thrown vessel from a large storage jar, the sherd tapered slightly from one end to the other, suggesting that this is the lower part of a walled-vessel, a short distance from the base. The fabric of the sherd is dark grey on the interior surfaces, oxidising rapidly to the core and exterior surfaces which are dark orange. A fragment of a ceramic vessel of Medieval date (AD 1200-1500). The fragment is a body sherd; fragment of a wheel-thrown, sand-tempered ceramic. The fabric has a reduced pale-grey core with orange-pink surfaces. The interior of the vessel is a dark blue-grey, oxidised at the surfaces to pinkish orange in colour. Fragments of a thick green glaze are evident, in part, along the ridge, and both upper and lower surfaces.

A fragment of a ridged roof tile of Medieval date (AD 1300-1500). The surviving fragment forms part of the raised central ridge, from which it flares acutely beneath into the tile proper. The ridge is plain in form, rounded at the apex. A single example of an impressed, decorative lozenge is evident on one flank of the ridge.

Handle fragment from a large jar or jug. A small fragment of a vertical, rounded rim remains, to which the handle expands. Medieval jar handles such as this are formed separetly to the main body and hand-applied, leaving concave application marks at the joins, through which this example is broken on the left edge. An incomplete handle of medieval green glaze pottery, possibly from a late Brandby-Type ware or Scarborough ware jug (AD 1200-1400). Most of the green glaze has been lost allowing the orange coloured clay beneath to be visible with a sandy grey core exposed by an old break. There is some evidence of decoration present, incised linear patterns running longitudinally from a convex lozenge at the top of the handle to the present lower terminating end. The fabric of the sherds is a light orange colour and is hard and smooth with traces of a dull olive green glaze on one surface. The fabric is similar to the Walmgate ware described in Laing 2003, p.95.
