A Roman copper alloy coin with considerable wear. The obverse depicts an emperor facing to the left. It is not possible to identify the emperor portrayed due to the condition of the coin. The portrait is depicted with a probable beard as well as with a possible radiate crown. The reverse depicts a camp or town gateway with two towers (Reece & James 2000, 34). The exergue below the gateway is worn and as such the mint is no longer visible. The margin of the coin has deteriorated on both the obverse and reverse making the remains of the legend difficult to read. However, this coin d…

Silver sixpence of Elizabeth I. The reverse has a long cross over the royal coat of arms with above it the date 1571. Above the date would be the mint mark but in this case the coin is too worn here to identify the mark. The obverse has the queen's head facing left and a rose to the right. This side is so worn that details of the queen's portrait are hard to identify and the rose is only just visible. Complete but rather worn, especially on obverse.

A complete copper alloy finger ring. Made of a strip of material which has subsequently broken cleanly, presumably at the joint. The ring is mis-shapen, being more polygonal than circular. The ring is decorated with stamped decoration comprising squares and other geometrical shapes (many too corroded to see properly) on one half of the ring and one the other a band with stamped vertical lines and a horizontal line running through it.

A Half groat of Henry VII. Obverse depicts the King on a throne, but this face has been worn almost smooth and it is difficult to pick out the finer detail. Reverse depicts a royal shield over long cross which divides the legend and keys on either side of the bottom of the shield. Minted in Durham under either Bishop Sherwood or Bishop Fox. Some clipping between 3 and 9 o'clock particularly noticeable on Reverse. Spink 2008 p.204

A penny or halfpenny of modern period, possibly Victorian (1819-1901 AD). The coin itself is extremely worn to the point where almost no detail can be seen on either side. However a slight indentation on what is presumably the obverse can be seen in the shape of what appears to be a woman (most likely Victoria herself). There is some corrosion on the coin, more so on the presumed reverse. The coin is of a dark grey colour (excluding the corrosive green coloration). The coin has a diameter of 27.57mm and is 2.09mm thick. It weighs 6.1g.

A hoard of least 57 Iron Age coins (in some cases coins are fused with others) with at least three different types represented. The coins vary in diameter between about 9mm and 17mm, some are half coins and others seem to have been cut down or broken. Most of the coins appear to have not been cleaned, although some do not have the same level of patination as the others and have probably been cleaned. No impressions can be seen on the coins as they are too corroded or worn with the exception of one on which a curving line of dots is still visible. The coins were found in a bowl in a …
