A near-complete Roman copper alloy finger ring, dating from the second to third centuries AD. The finger ring is a Guiraud Type 4; the loop is oval in profile with a flat rectangular section. The bezel is sub-triangular in profile with a flet apex, although this is now broken. The top of the bezel has a rectangular void in which the remains of a white paste-like substance is visible - this may have been the adhesive for securing a glass or stone insert in place, although no trace of the latter survives. The dimensions for length and diameter relate in the internal loop measurements.
