An unidenitfied object of unknown date. The object is circular in plan and slightly D shaped in profile. It is decorated on the front with a geometric pattern worked in what appears to be champlevé enamel; all cells are still filled with a pale yellow substance which could be degraded enamel. There are three crescent shaped apertures in the decoration at equal distances set around the edge of the object, each of which has two small circular perforations. A cast copper alloy Roman trumpet brooch. The head has no wings and in plan is a vertical oval; it is decorated with a circular cell either side of double stranded ridges which continue down the upper portion of the bow. The cells are on platforms which blend into the sides of the bow head. One cell is filled with blue glass which has an off-centre low relief area. A cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends), Mackreth 2011, 4.e. Plate 47. The brooch has rounded end caps on the arm terminals; a small ring a dot motif has been punched on to the brooch behind each arm while another is located above the spring wire loop on the head of the brooch. Going down the bow this has an elongated, tapering triangle shape recessed into the brooch stretching from the head of the brooch to just beneath halfway down. Anglo-Saxon copper-alloy strap end. It is tear-shaped, with one end split that would have held the strap between two small rivets (missing). The pointy end is decorated with four small raised mouldings, in Saxon animal style the 'ears' of the animals head. No mouldings for eyes or snout are visible. The back is decorated with an inlay of white metal or copper-elloy wire which lines the surface as well as creating a scrollwork pattern on the inside.
