Medieval copper alloy oval buckle frame with an offset, narrowed bar and a broad outside edge which is concave on the reverse. Both the convex front of the edge and the sides are decorated with twelve radial grooves which are inlaid with a black material, perhaps niello or lacquer. Weight 1.98g. Length 14mm. Width 19.5mm. Late 12th - 13th century.

Small fragment of copper-alloy medieval finger-ring with probable glass setting. It consists of a raised sub-conical bezel with a sub-circular sunken centre in which there is an incomplete shiny turquoise setting, probably glass. There is a broad groove or step across the bezel to either side of the setting, making a kind of shoulder, after which the hoop tapers to the breaks. The entire object, including the breaks, is worn. Incomplete Roman copper alloy Knee brooch, Mackreth 2011 KNEE Br 1.a.1, with the upper end of a pierced tab on top of the head and part of the catchplate missing. On the front of the hollow-backed bow there are four round cells and a long narrow cell running the full length, all inlaid with dull grey material, At the foot a short projection is curled forward. The axis bar is of iron. Close in form and decoration to NMS-F3F636 on which there are six round cells (with inlay identified as silver). Weight 4.0g. Extant length 32.7mm. A complete cast copper-alloy annular type brooch dating to the Medieval period, c. 1200-1400. The brooch is broadly hexagonal in plan, with a constriction at one edge for the pin (which survives intact). Each side of the frame is incurved, with a swelling at its midpoint and pointed corners, the former co-incident with a prominent collet (a total of six) four of which still contain their original white setting. Incomplete gold object, possibly a boss from a brooch or other piece of jewellery. The reverse is recessed. The obverse exhibits a central oval reserve set with a turquoise stone or paste setting. This is surrounded by four triangular cells, one at each of the cardinal points. Each cell exhibits an oval recess, one of which retains traces of a turquoise setting. The other three cells retain traces of an adhesive or cement. Between the triangular cells are trapezoidal cells, each retaining two recesses for stone or paste settings. Five off-white stones remain.

Incomplete Late Saxon copper alloy strap fitting or harness fitting. At one end a loop is fronted by a boss decorated with a low cruciform moulding with traces of pale grey inlay. The loop is set at an angle to the remainder of the object which comprises a short D-sectioned bar ending with a round boss on the convex side below which there is part of a transverse loop. The surface of the metal is dull purplish. Stylistically very close to a now well known class of socketed hooks forming parts of strap distributors, of which the most complete example is LIN-F29FC4. Incomplete Middle Saxon to Late Saxon copper alloy strap end in outstandingly decayed condition. Thomas 2003, Class A. The split end and attachment edge are missing along with much of the sides and all the material inlaid into three panels, two rectangular and one square. Six minute pieces of inlaid silver sheet have survived. Of four that adorned the animal-head terminal two are fragmentary and two triangular and decorated with a punched annulet. Extant length, width and thickness 47.7, 13.4 and 2.6mm. 9th century.

Crescent-shaped plate decorated with filigree, consisting of a twisted wire border around an abstract design, probably two flowers with long stamens in a pot. Fragment of a Middle Saxon to Late Saxon copper alloy strap-end in abraded condition. It is broken at both ends, across the end of the snout of an animal-head terminal and across two rectangular cells filled with niello and siver wire spirals. The surface around the cells have been lost to corrosion leaving then standing very slightly proud. Rectangular late Saxon lead weight in abraded condition. On one face a S-shaped groove is inlaid with black material, probably niello, while on the other a reversed S is similarly inlaid. 20.5 x 18.5 x 8.5mm. Weighing 26.86g. A rectangular form is not the norm for Late Saxon weights, but the weight of this piece is quite close to the suggested weight unit of 26.6g for Viking Dublin (Kruse 1992, 86).

An incomplete Middle-Late Saxon hooked tag with a sub-circular plate with two pierced projections at the top for the attachment, one of which is broken, with a point between them on the upper edge. There is a short projection to either side of the hook where it joins the plate, shortly after which the hook is broken. The plate is decorated with a circular field keyed for an inlay which survives only partially as a white chalky substance, around which are multiple blind drilled holes. It may be compared with Read (2008, 28, no.117) Class D type 1.
