A broken copper alloy mount from uncertain use (possibly a book fitting, possibly a belt fitting). The terminal end is a narrow point, widening out to a disc for an attachment rivet. The next panel is raised as solid high relief. Beyond this there is the start of a possible attachment/suspension loop but the piece is broken off.

Copper alloy book clasp, probably dating from the 11th or 12th century. The two hooked tags are integrally cast. The panel on the body of the clasp shows a zoomorphic figure, possibly a stylised gryphon; this was probably chip-carved. There are two rivets for attachment still intact, located just off the central panel, opposite the hooked tags. The reverse of the object is not decorated. There are no signs of breakage on the clasp. The face of the object still shows traces of gilding.

Cast copper alloy horse pendant suspension bar. The object is badly corroded. The bar is 65.5mm wide. At either end of the bar are perforations for iron rivets, of which traces of one are still apparent. There are decorative knops at each terminal of the bar. The suspension loop is visible as an integral U-shaped tag on the lower side of the bar. This would have been an ovoid tag, folded behind the bar to form a loop. Cast copper alloy mount of medieval date. The mount is a sexfoil with a domed centre and two integral rivets. There are very faint traces of gilding on the face of the mount. There are no dividing lines for the lobes of the sexfoil. The two rivets on the reverse of the object are rectangular in section, narrowing at the tip.

Fragment of a cast copper alloy rowel spur. The object comprises the side and neck; there are traces of gilding. The side extends in a shallow curve; this is decorated with an incised foliate motif. The neck extends away from the side, curving upwards; there is a collar below an extension to the neck, this extension being the area of attachment for the rowel.

Cast copper alloy harness pendant dating to the Medieval period. The main body of the pendant is lozenge-shaped in plan, with four lobes, of which only three may be seen in part. At the top of the lozenge there is an integral tag with a perforation for suspension of the harness pendant. Decoration is comprised of small incised circles forming a larger circular border in the lozenge. Post-medieval hooked tag, damaged and incomplete, made from copper alloy with traces of gilding surviving. The pin has broken, leaving only around 10mm. The head has a concave central boss surrounded by a border with twelve pierced circular holes. Most of the border is no longer present, and only one of the pierced holes survives complete.

Cast copper alloy harness pendant set. The head of the suspension mount has a scallop-like shape; this is mimicked in the shape of the pendent. The reverse of the mount has an integral rivet; there is a tag at the base which curves behind the object to form the loop for the suspension bar for the pendent. The pendent possibly had some incised, radiating lines with gilding on the surface.

A copper alloy sub-D-shaped buckle. Most likely a Late Roman to Early-Medieval Military strap or belt fitting (or possibly a harness fitting).
Oval frame, with a smaller trapezoidal second loop. The main oval loop is notched for the pin, with a small decorative knop to either side of the notch. Two incised lines run between the oval and trapezoidal loops forming a small ridge.
Part of the iron pin (and a patch of iron corrosion) survive on the outer frame of the trapezoidal loop (although the pin would usually be attached to the frame between the two loops).

Description: Disc mount, probably from a shield boss The disc mount has a garnet, now cracked and possibly on a backing foil, in a raised setting at its centre. This is surrounded by a concentric freeze of three Style I creatures. Each quadruped has its mouth wide open and its jaws appear to be frame the hind leg of the preceding animal. Post-medieval silver-gilt dress pin of trefoil form applied with three hemispherical bosses. The bosses are decorated with filigree decoration and knops. Description: Silver-gilt ring, the hoop of D section, decorated on the exterior with a foliate wreath in relief, bound on each side and at top and bottom. The interior plain and the gilding much worn.
Discussion: Although there is no precisely comparable ring in the British Museum, the general shape and decoration are consistent with a date in the 16th or 17th century.
Metal content: The precious metal content fulfils the requirements of the Treasure Act in that it is greater than 10%.

Openwork silver-gilt bead, made in two hemispherical hollow sections soldered together as marked by transverse band of cable ornament. The openwork structure made up of foliate spirals with small projecting knops. Wide gilt loop for suspension at the top. Hollow cylindrical setting for another element, now lost, at bottom. Approx 1.5 cm diameter.
Weight: 4.2g.
Possibly a decorative bead for wearing on the end of a rosary or belt end. Not dissimilar in facture to the Tudor dress-pins of the 16th Century.

Each link measures 17.1mm x 10.7mm x 0.8mm. On the reverse of each is a pierced rib, extending down the length of the link. A long elongated hoop joins the two links together.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman crossbow brooch of circa 4th-century date. The brooch is a rare example as it has been hollow-cast. All that survives is the head of the brooch, consisting of the wings and the top of the bow. One full onion knop survives on the terminal of one wing. The other has broken off, leaving behind the torn metal. The top knop still survives but has been bent out of shape and pushed to the side. The wings have a hexagonal section and traces of gilding can be seen on the surface. There is a collar before the onion knops.
