A complete gilded copper-alloy early-medieval (early Anglo-Saxon) mount, perhaps from a shield-boss apex, possibly from a horse's harness. It consists of a circular copper-alloy plate with a raised beaded border around the outside of the outer face and raised chip-carved Style II zoomorphic interlace decoration in the centre, with a central circular recess on the front and two concentric recessed circles around it. A complete highly decorated Medieval single loop trapezoidal shaped buckle and floral strap plate dating to c. AD 1250-1500.  The buckle consists of an elongated trapezoidal buckle frame, an articulating pin and folded strap plate with quatrefoil applique. An incomplete copper alloy late Medieval (c. AD1300-1500) 'disc-on-pin' buckle of Redmayne Type A4, consisting of the 'disc-on-pin' only. The pin comprises a flat sub-lozengiform plate, c. 1.7mm thick, from opposite ends of which project the points. A complete Medieval cast silver-gilt finger ring, of stirrup style, and dating to c.AD.1150-1500. Description: The object is stirrup shaped, with a sub-circular hoop rising to a triangular bezel. In cross-section the hoop is D-shaped and is uninscribed. The bezel has an integrally cast silver boss, in place and in imitation of a gem setting. A fragment of a copper-alloy disc of Medieval date 8th-9th century. All that remains is a quarter of the disc, which has cruciform arms and a chip-carved counter-relief interlace is net-like and occasionally expands to form small triangles. The interlace is abstract, with no animal elements identifiable, but there is evidence of gilding. The reverse is undecorated and has corrosion. The catchplate and pin are missing. Similar examples can be seen in PAS see NARC-E11208.  Length: 20.58mm Width: 16.85mm Weight: 0.91g
