An incomplete copper alloy masonic pendant dating from Post Medieval to Modern period, AD 1830 - 1950. The pendant consists of a cast plate which is trowel shaped (kite shaped) with an incomplete suspension loop at its broad end set at right angles to the plane of the plate. The upper surface has a raised  rim that surrounds a central masonic set square and compass motif in relief. the background is gilded and decorated with multiple swirl motifs. The reverse has a scar near the top. A copper alloy partially gilded strap loop fitting of around the 14th century. It is rectangular in shape and has traces of gilding on both faces and has bevelled edges on those faces. There is a centrally positioned broken round shank measuring 4mm long with a diameter of 3.5mm. It exhibits some patina within corrosion. For similar examples on this database, see NLM-7CF035, NARC-FE561A and BH-ED2C6B. Note the similar fitting in Egan and Pritchard 1991, pp. 232, Fig.147, No.1239.

A complete, medieval, gilded copper alloy annular brooch with pin in situ dating from AD1200-1400. These were pinned at the neck to fasten two parts of clothing together (Ward-Perkins 1940, 237-75), or used purely decoratively by both men and women. The frame for the brooch is circular in plan and rectangular in cross-section. It is 2.4mm thick and 4.5mm wide.
