Lead probable spindle whorl. Cast cylindrical whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 11.6mm, Walton Rogers form B. A possibly moulded design has been partially carried over to one flat side only, unless these irregularities represent shrinkage in an open mould, and lipping appears on the opposite side. The fragment is broadly rectangular in plan and cross section albeit being slightly arched in profile. There is moulded decoration on the upper surface this define 9 point radiant pattern made of flaring spikes, the central spike being widest and thickest, extedning from a column like portion of the object with scroll corners.
