Description: An incomplete silver strap end, one half of the attachment edge is missing due to an old break. It is rectangular in shape and the attachment end is solid but thinner than the rest of the strap end, it is flush with the back face. This attachment end has two and a half surviving circular rivet holes and is likely to have had four originally. There is a silver rivet in situ within one of the complete rivet holes.

Description: An incomplete silver Anglo-Saxon hooked tag, a fragment of the upper edge of the plate is now missing due to an old break. The head is round in shape and has two small circular sewing holes near the centre of the upper edge.
The front face is decorated with an incised Greek cross with rounded terminals and there is also a pair of transverse grooves at the beginning of each arm. The cross appears to have also been inlaid with niello, although only tiny traces survive.
The hook is slender and turns backwards abruptly at its lower third, it tapers to a sharp point.

The copper-alloy loop of an Iron Age to Roman end-looped cosmetic mortar dating to the 1st to 2nd century AD. The bow of the mortar is missing due to old breaks. The end loop measures 15.02mm by 15.57mm in size. It has a central circular hole 7.57mm in diameter. The outer edge of the loop has a decorative groove, a tiny fragment of the hollowed out bow of the mortar survives.

Description: Silver gilt 16th century dress-hook, complete apart from most of the integral loop. Fragments of the sides of this loop survive and project vertically from the top edge of the plate, the loop appears to have been rectangular in shape originally.
The plate is moulded in the form of a circular Tudor rose and in its centre there is a fleur-de-lis motif, when this motif is viewed the right way up the missing loop would be at its base, which probably indicates the orientation this hook was worn.

A cast copper-alloy complete button-and-loop fastener of a form which represents a hybrid of Wilds' Class II and III (Wild 1970 138-139, fig 1). Wild dates Class II to mid 1st to 2nd century AD and Calss III to AD 50-150, this example is therefore likely to be broadly of a smilar date. Description: Silver gilt 16th century cap-hook or hat-hook in the form of a Tudor rose. On the front face the rose has five moulded petals and a central protruding circular boss. The back face is flat and has a now incomplete pin across its middle; this pin is soldered on and incomplete due to an old break.
Discussion: Other Tudor cap-hooks are known from elsewhere, Gaimster (2002, 169-173) identifies them as a main category of Tudor dress accessory and it believed that they were used to embellish the hats of the Tudor elite.

Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch fragment, lower bow and part of the flat panel from a early Anglo-Saxon brooch. There is a longitudinal decorative band running down the centre of the bow and below the bow transverse grooves delimit the start of the flat panel. Surviving length is 17.94mm and width is 17.38mm. All edges worn and damaged due to old breaks. Both faces are black probably due to exposure to fire, perhaps indicating that this brooch was originally from a cremation cemetary.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman strap-mounted terret. The terret has a large circular upper loop measuring 36.03mm externally and 22.01mm internally. It has a circular section and is worn along one lower edges face. The remains of one side of a smaller lower rectangular loop survive but most of this loop is missing due to old breaks. It is similar to an example from Hacheston (Plouviez 2004, 128, no 228) and Colchester (Crummy 1983, fig 109, no 2543).

A copper-alloy Roman bracelet fragment. It is a rectangular stip, folded double, 16.76mm in length and 45.54mm in extended width, weighing 4.82g. It is decorated with narrow longitudinal bands of stamped circles alternating with wider plain bands. One short terminal has a band 8mm wide, which has three stamped motifs, of winged circles, ressembling sycamore keys. The other short terminal is incomplete due to old breaks.
Broad armlets of this type are thought to date to the early Roman period, and examples have been found from Roman Colchester.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman hairpin, probably of Cool, Group 1 sub-group E (Cool, 1990, 151, fig 1, no 2, 6). It is of Group 1 as these pins have simple knob heads, this example has a conical head, but can be further classified as sub-group E as the shaft has an expansion part of the way down. Sub-group E shows a concentration in East Anglia, so Cool suggests that pins with expanded shanks could have been the fashion in that area.

A copper-alloy hook piece from a sleeve or wrist clasp of unusual type, similar to Hines Form C1, Barrington type (Hines 1993, 67-69) but with the relief decoration in the centre of a flat, otherwise undecorated, rectangular plate. A complete medieval lead seal matrix which appears to be unfinished, as the front has no inscription or decorative motif, it is flat and blank. The matrix is pointed-oval in shape and measures 30.47mm in length and 18.52mm in width. On the reverse there is an unpierced suspension loop at one end of a narrow ridge; below this, in the other terminal, four low rounded domed bosses of different sizes. This matrix is likely to be 13th-century in date.
