Norris was the landlord of the Cartwright Arms in Anyho in the late 17th century, then known as the Red Lion, hence the lion depicted on the token. The obverse features the words HIS HALF PENY in the centre and THOMAS NORRIS IN. The reverse features a rampant Lion in the centre and AYNIO VP ON THE HILL. The token has been pierced.

A piece of lead, roughly circular, into which a Conder halfpenny token has been pressed to leave an impression. It dates from AD 1787 - 1797 or later. It consists of a thin, sub-oval disc of lead alloy with an impression on one side of a bust facing right and some retrograde letters from the legend, all within a wire line circle.
