An almost blank silver coin, just discernible as a French 1/2 Ecu (44 Sols) from the reign of Louis XV (1715-74) . The coin has probably been intentionally worn smooth, as was customary for re-use as a 'love token' during the early 18th century. . There is a just-below centre oval containing three fleur de lis but is otherwise unreadable. The reverse is blank. Diameter: 21.67mm, Thickness: 0.58mm, Weight: 1.89g.

A silver French 1/10 ecu of Louis XV dated to 1732. SIT NOMEN DOMINI BENEDICTVM reverse depicting oval shield of France, crowned, between two branches of olive tree. Mint uncertain. The obverse of the coin displays no detail. Similar recorded coins such as CORN-D8E00B, SUR-68F915 are suggested to have been worn smooth though the present example shows no signs of having been milled on the obverse.
