A free-standing cast lead conical 43.2g (1.5 oz) weight of uncertain age, but probably dating to the Post Medieval period. It has a sub-circular base with tapering sides up to a slightly flattened apex. A circular holes runs through the centre of the weight narrowing as it does so up the length of the piece. There are no markings or decoration present, but many dents and gouges, displaying a light grey colour. A complete cast lead spindle whorl or weight, of unknown date. This is plano-convex in shape with a convex upper surface and flat reverse. It has a moulded circular aperture slightly off-centre measuring c. 10.5mm in diameter. The surface of the spindle whorl is covered entirely in a dark grey patina. The maximum diameter is 30.3mm and the height 7.1mm. The spindle whorl weighs 27.10 grams. The shape conforms to Walton Rogers form A1.
