A flint core of Mesolithic to early Neolithic date c. 9000-3300 BC. The core is conical with a single hard hammered striking platform with a pronounced bulb of percussion and a large area of cortex remaining. There are four unidirectional long blade removals around the core,two with hinged terminations.  The flint is transluscent grey in colour. Dimensions: length: 48.2mm; width: 39.7mm; height: 39.1mm and weight: 50.59g.  This core was found in scattered spread of flint finds; see: SUSS-793E72 and SUSS-66C0E8

Large and almost complete adze, of triangular cross section, in rolled condition. The flint has patinated a dark brown colour with the coarse inclusions now a lighter brown, the edges have crumbled due to the flint re-corticating and turning chalky underneath the brown patination, showing as a white grainular surface. The damage to the cutting edge shows the core of the flint is still intact under the thick chalky degradation and a patch of good quality dark grey flint inside. A complete Mesolithic tranchet axehead made from a nodule of dark grey / black flint, 133mm in length. Only one face of the axehead is worked, the other remains largely covered with cortex and it appears the tool was made from a long nodule which defines the overall shape. The cross section is lenticular and the butt end is tapered and rounded. The cutting edge has several transverse removals to create a rounded tip with a wedge-shaped cross section. There is battering damage to the cutting edge, possibly from use.
