A fragment of a Roman samian ware mortarium, dating 1st-2nd century AD. The fragment is from the base of the vessel, with part of the body and foot remaining. The clay is a light orange with fine quartz inclusions and mica throughout. It appears to be of the micaceous Lezoux ware tradition.There are traces of a mid red glaze on all surfaces. There are traces of large granular inclusions in the inside surface of the base of the vessel, indicating the object was a mortarium. Dimensions: length: 72.05 mm; width: 48.39 mm; thickness: 11.01 mm; weight: 44.64g.

A fragment of a Roman Alice Holt/Farnham ware vessel, dating 1st-early 2nd century AD. The vessel is formed of a mid-grey clay with fine quartz inclusions. Part of the rim and body are all that remian. The rim is everted and curves downwards. There are a series of three engraved lines below the rim forming two bands that run around the neck of the vessel, the lower thicker than the other. There is evidence of damage to the vessel from having been in water. Dimensions: estimated rim diameter: 10 mm; height: 64.42 mm; width: 103.28 mm; thickness: 3.70 mm; weight: 43.34g.

A fragment of a Roman amphora of uncertain type. What remains of the vessel is the rim and part of the handle, which has since broken away and been worn heavily. Two incomplete probable Roman tegulae, dating AD 43-410. The ceramic is a reddish-orange colour withwith one fragment having a grey core. All that remains onf each example is part of the base and the lip along one edge. On the larger fragment, the lip is narrower at one end, which does not appear to be a result of damage or wear. An incomplete probable Roman tegula, dating AD 43-410. The ceramic is a reddish-orange colour with a slightly redder core visible along the break. Only half of the object remains, consisting of part of the base and the lip along one edge. The lip is narrower at one end, which does not appear to be a result of damage or wear. There is a groove running along the inside of the lip, which would have held the imbrex in place. Similar tegulae can be found recorded on the PAS database, cf. NLM-ACB990.
