The pot is mostly intact, with a narrow base which widens significantly in the body, curving inward toward the neck. The fabric is a coarse grey ware, possibly black burnished, with some sandy inclusions. Interestingly, the base of the pot has four drilled holes present. Given the form and fabric, it is likely that the pot is Roman and dates to the later 2nd century AD onward. Four fragments of wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Roman date, c. AD 40 - 400. The fragments are all rim sherds from a Terra sigillata (samian ware) vessel, perhaps a bowl or dish. The fabric is orange and fine grained, and the slip on the exterior surface is red and glossy. Sherd 1 is triangular in shape and features a rounded rim along one edge. A fragment of a wheel made Roman New Forest beaker. The beaker dates to the period AD270-340. The fragment shows three decorative (pastry wheel) lines running around the circumference of the beaker. The beaker is Fulford's Type 27. A straight sided indented vessel. The fragment is 88.60mm high and 75.20mm wide. The fragment shows a greyish/brown glaze over an orange ochre base.

An incomplete base of a samian ware bowl, dating AD 130-160. All that remains is part of the pedestal foot and the body, which curves slightly towards the edges which have broken away. The fabric is a light orange-pink colour with the slip being a dark orange-red. Evidence of it being wheel turned is on the base of the vessel. There is also a stamp on the internal surface, rectangular in shape, with the letters AMBITOV[---], indicating the maker was Ambitoutus who worked at the kiln in Lazoux, France. Part of the base of a Roman Alice Holt/Farnham ware beaker, dating AD 43-400. Part of the base remains, which is circular in shape. The vessel would have had a steep curve leading up to the mouth. There is significance damage along one side of the base in the form of a very angular break. The break occured in antiquity based on the wear along the breakline. A fragment of an Oxfordshire White Ware mortarium, probably dating AD 250-400. Part of the rim survives with a rounded flange running around the outside. The flange has been incredibly worn so its original shape is unclear, but would have likely curved downwards to form a lip. The ceramic is cream in colour with medium to large grain pink-brown quartz inclusions on the inside surface. An incomplete tile dating to the Late Roman period. It is roughly triangular in shape and has a light orange brown colouring with a dark grey reduction layer running through the centre. On one side in the bottom right hand corner is the impression from a dog's paw. The tile was located in the same area as the 3rd century Roman fort of Othona at Bradwell-on-Sea, which was constructed around the time of the Carausian Revolt (AD286-296). Based on this association the tile likely dates to the late 3rd to 4th century, The tile is 99.16g, 77.66mm length, 39.51mm width, 19.34mm thickness
