A fragment of an Early Medieval copper-alloy cruciform brooch dating to circa AD 475-550. The extant piece consists of a side knop which would have been attached to the headplate of the brooch.. It is dumbbell shaped in plan and plano-convex in section, with a flat reverse. The front face consists of two lobes joined by a constricted mid-setion. Each lobe is decorated with three incised transverse grooves. At the efge of one of the lobes is a shall median rectangular groove which would have facilitated attachment to the brooch. A complete Medieval copper-alloy Medieval buckle dating to circa AD 1250-1350. It is a comprised of a single rectangular looped frame. The frame is rectangular sectioned. The outer edge carries a separately made copper alloy roller in which the externally made pin rests. The pin is wrapped around the bar and tapers into a point. It is rectangular sectioned.
The buckle is consistent with Meols Type 12 (Griffiths, Philpott and Egan 2006).

A probable Medieval copper-alloy harness pendant dating to circa AD 1200-1400. Plano-convex in section, the piece consists of five - broadly tear-shaped - lobes representing petals arranged in a 2-2-1 formation. At the apex is a transverse projecting collar set below a D-shaped suspension lug. The reverse is plain. The front face retains significant traces of gilding. It has a brown-green patina.
No precise parallel can be found on the database. The gilding would suggest a Medieval date although the patina could potentially suggest a Post Medieval date.

An incomplete Post Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to circa AD 1550-1650. The whole piece is plano-convex in section. It is comprised of a rectangular apex loop. The body is sub-circular and openwork. Carrying a symmetrical design, it has two rows of circular openwork elements on each upper flank arranged in a 2-2 formation. In the centre is circular element comprised of circular pellets. The lower element of the front face is decorated with a moulded raised chevron. The hook is now survived only by a short stump.

A complete Post Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to circa AD 1550-1650. It is comprisedof a trapezoidal apex loop which is plano-convex in section. The body is circular with a convex front face and concave reverse. The front face is decorated with a moulded floriate design which is now so heavily worn that it cannot easily be distinguished. Projecting from the lower edge is a plano-convex in section rear facing hook.
It is consistent with Read's 2008 Class E Type 3 dating to the early part of the Post Medieval period.

An incomplete Medieval copper-alloy spacer from a composite strap end datomg to circa AD 1270-1500. Rectangular-sectioned, the spacer is forked with two pointed prongs emerging from an openwork oval plate which terminatesl in an acordn shaped knop. Only one fork now survives. It tapers gently into a point. The other has broken away.
Similar examples are depicted in Egan and Pritchard 2002: pg 141, pl 92.

An incomplete Post Medieval copper-alloy handle from a knife dating to circa AD 1600-1650. Cast in two pieces, the extant element consists of a moulded male figure wearing a hat and playing a bagpipe. The figure surmounts a rectangular-sectioned socket which terminates in an old break. Both faces of the socket are decorated with a foliate design which is now heavily barded.

Distorted fragment of a large medieval copper alloy buckle frame, a straight outside edge of almost flat cross-section with a small part of both sides. On the gently convex front face there is a pin groove and, near both junctions with the sides beyond which the edge projects very slightly, there is a pair of narrow grooves, It is uncertain whether the buckle was single-looped (cf. NMS-3CAD39) or double-looped (cf. NMS-886894). Weight 5.81g. Width and thickness of edge 39mm and 2 - 2.4mm. Extant length 18mm, of which the edge accounts for 9.5mm. Mid 14th - mid 15th century.

Heavily eroded medieval copper-alloy pin from a buckle or brooch. It is plano-convex in cross section and appears to be mostly complete, except for extensive surface loss and pitting. The loop is either bent open (currently curving around 180 degrees) or is incomplete: probably the former, since its terminal tapers to a fine point (in thickness) and does not appear to be broken. The shaft tapers in width uniformly from the base of the loop to a point at the opposite end. There is no trace of a collar. 13th to 14th century.

A complete Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating circa AD 1200-1400. A one piece strap end, it is broadly trapezoidal in plan tapering from its widest extent at the attachment end into the terminal. Projecting from the terminal edge is a triangular knop. The plate has a split end and is undecorated on either face. Two rivet holes positioned centrally at the terminal and attachment end, remain in sity.
Similar examples are depicted in Egan and Pritchard 2002: pg 144.

An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy ansate brooch dating to circa AD 700-1000. Cast in one piece it consists of two flat discoidal terminals at either end. One terminal appears to have been slightly miscast with a circular protrusion projecting from one edge. The bow has a triangular-section and is curved in profile. The terminals and bow are undecorated. Projecting from the reverse of one of the terminals is a heavily corroded lug which would have held the now missing pin. The plate is rectangular, comprised of a single sheet of copper alloy folded and joined together by two separetely made rivets, only one of which now survives. At the frame end is a rectangular voided which the axis bar of the frame would have slotted through. Much of the plate on the reverse has now broken away. It is rectangular in plan with a shield shaped terminal from which projects an incomplete trefoil or triangular knop. Now heavily abraded and scarred, an intact separately made copper alloy rivet is positioned centrally towards the attachment end.

A complete Post Medieval hooked tag (dress fastener) dating to circa AD 1550-150. It consists of a sub-oval plate carrying moulded floriate decoration. At the apex is a rectangular suspension loop. Emerging from the lower edge is a reverted hook. The piece is plano-convex in section.
It is consistent with Read's Class E, Type 3 group with a very similar example illustrated in 2008: pg 103, no 400.
