A fragment of Roman ceramic hypocaust/flue tile dating to AD43 - 410. The front surface has the combed keying pattern for mortar, with two sets of five parallel lines. The lines are shallow and narrow with wide spaces between. The reverse is plain. The fabric has fine sand temper and common very fine chalk and patinated flint inclusions mostly very small but with some pieces up to 1mm long. Four fragments of oxidised fired clay, quite fine, some elongated voids (?chaff), no large inclusions and no chalk flecks, three with one smooth surface (the thickest 43mm) and a fourt with one surface which is smooth and with a reduced patch and the other with withy impressions, thickness 39mm. Weight 267g. Daub from stud walling or from a hearth or kiln structure. Not securely datable but not recent, and probably ancient.

It is broadly triangular in shape, measuring 40.88mm in length, 26.03mm at maximum width (before tapering inwards slightly), 26.19mm in thickness and weighs 15.94g.

Fragment of a Late Medieval -Post medieval 15th-17th century, ceramic architectural moulding in the form of two twisted rope columns. Fragment is small and made from a white fabric with numerous inclusions. The two columns are sibe by side with a flange extending off to the other side. The central column is more prominent than the other and has a narrow band running around it at one end. Medieval decorated ceramic architectural fragment, a moulded openwork panel in a variagated pinkish oxidised brick fabric (rather than terracotta) with profuse straw impressions on the reverse (and several on the front). Parts of two straight edges survive and meet at a damaged right-angled corner. Breaks truncate a cusped opening. Three lines on the front surface form an approximate arrow shape. An assemblage of 11 post medieval ceramic architectural fragments of uncertain type dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1800. The fragments most probably derive from the Dunster brickworks. The fabric is a dark orange/red colour and has been highly fired. One piece appears to be a sherd from a tile and has a dark brown glaze on one surface. The other sherds are extremely fragmentary in nature and it is not possible to say what they may have originally been part of. Collective weight: c. 1565.00g.
