A Post Medieval gilded copper alloy token or Gaming counter in the style of a George III (AD 1760-1820) half guinea , dating to AD 1790. Dimensions: 19.8mm in diameter, weight: 2.72g. These coin-like gaming pieces were made in imitation of gold guineas and half guineas of George III's 'spade' type issued between 1787 and 1799. A fragment of a Post medieval silver coin; a counterfeit half guinea of George I dating from AD 1715 - 1727. Less than half of the coin survives. It is a silver imitation of a gold coin of George I, the half guinea. Compare Spink number 3635 - 3637. The coin owuld have been gilded. Measurements are; length 19.8mm, width 8.4mm, thickness 1.0mm and weight 1.05g. An example of a genuine gold coin is SUSS-BFEECE.
